iptvipTV is the terminology used to describe delivery of video over the web. For the term to be accurate several features need to be present:

1. Lean back. ipTV is a "lean back" experience, viewers are switching out their TV for their compuiter screen, or calling up ipTV to their TV. This means the video quality needs to be high-resolution;

2. Experience.  The content delivery medium must feel like a TV experience. This again means full-screen features, but also includes continuous play - viewers should not have to return to the computer to select a new clip every few minutes, or click to play - this breaks up the "lean back and relax" metaphor at the heart of ipTV. So either allow playlists or organise your content into channels that play through.

3. Discovery. YouTube are now loading 30 hours of video every minute, so to be found your material needs to be tagged with appropriate search terms, located in a channel where people can find it (such as Blip or YouTube) and accurately described.

4. Fresh - like television, watching ipTV a second time counts as a repeat. Some material, especially related to music and dance can certainly be viewed repeatedly, however to keep interest in your channel viewers must be fed fresh material.

5. Sound - dont forget this - audio quality is part of ipTV, if the sound is poor your material will fail.

6. Advertising is not a dirty word! Many ipTV programs use product placement for financing and this is not a trend that will end anytime soon. For a company wishing to get their product out on the web, including it right in a program is more effective than a preroll or postroll that will often get "zoned out", or banner blind.

Mindfor Studios can film your event in high-definition using our broadcast quality Sony XD EX3 Cameras and then edit to add titles, copyright and contact details, and then load to YouTube, BlipTV or the ipTV station of your choice. More information.
